Osteoporosis

Also known as the silent disease, osteoporosis affects many women,

 “in particular Asian women are the most vulnerable to this disease and

 that statistically only 25% will regain full control of the physical functions,

” we were told by Dr. Lee Joon Kiong, who is president o the Malaysian


Osteoporosis society.Here in Malaysia, over one million people are at risk


 and it has also been predicted that over 50 per cent of osteoporotic fractures

will occur in Asia by the year 2050.Therefore in July, there were many

campaigns such as Fonterra’s hi-calcium brand Anlene,who launched

 'Listen to your bones' campaign, which aimed to educate Malaysian

 women on how important it is to take care of their bones

 to prevent this debilitating disease.
